Bonding 방식 중 기술적으로 가장 어려운 방식으로 작업온도가 높은 반도체 공정에서 사용되는 sputtering target에 적용된다.
접합물질이 없이 target과 backing plate을 맞댄 상태에서 고온과 고압을 가하여 target과 backing plate간의 물질 확산(diffusion)에 의해 접합이 이루어지므로 bonding 비율, 열전도도 측면에서 가장 유리하다.
